There are three points to consider with this new scoring system:
· If a defense intercepts a pass or recovers a fumble and returns it for a touchdown, the defense will be awarded the fantasy points for the touchdown.
· The reason negative points are given for rushing and passing attempts and receptions is to reward productivity and efficiency. A player who catches 5 passes for 177 yards has been more productive than a player who catches 10 passes for 43 yards. The negative points make the scoring system fall into place so it most accurately reflects a player’s actual production.
· Home field advantage is worth 150 points. This yields a results home field advantage post-reduction (i.e., 150 divided by 50) of 3 points, which has been the standard for the NFA since its inception.
